It’s Diwali. I’m Single. And that’s perfectly Ok!

It’s Diwali. You’re single. And there is 2 ways that you can deal with that fact.

1. Wallow in your self pity, find the biggest box of fattening Indian sweets and chocolates, and prepare for an evening full of sappy, romantic, depressing chick flicks about all those other people that have found love as you cry yourself to sleep and wonder if you’ll ever meet that special someone. OR

Step 1: Focus on the people that you DO have in your life and not those you DON’T. This includes your family, close friends, colleagues at work – anyone that you value being in your life. Wish them a Happy Diwali!

Step 2: Enjoy a day of fun self pampering! Make an appointment to get that massage you’ve been putting off for so long. The best part about Diwali, unlike Valentine’s Day, is that the spa is not filled with tons of sappy couples partaking in overpriced ‘Couples Spa Packages’ so you should be safe there. Maybe consider getting a new haircut – something different to change up your look?

Step 3: Grab your single girlfriends and plan a fun night out on the town. Diwali is a day of celebration, not just for couples, but for everyone! Make reservations at that great Italian place you’ve been dying to try and get all dressed up for a fun evening with friends.

Step 4: Not feeling like a big night out? What about having some friends over to your place while you experiment with some new and fun recipes and crack open a bottle of wine.

Step 5: Last but not least, spend the evening with your family just like old times. Don’t live in the same city as them? See if you can plan a surprise visit home – we’re sure mom would LOVE to see you!

Diwali is a day of celebration and fun so don’t let the fact that you don’t have a date get in the way of realizing all the great things you do have in your life.

So from all of us here at TwoMangoes.com, we wish you, your family and friends a very Happy Diwali!
